Street events are a fantastic way to bring neighbours together and strengthen community bonds. These grassroots parties are created by residents for residents, offering a safe and fun environment to reconnect and celebrate together.
Expect lively and welcoming street parties where you can meet your neighbours, enjoy local festivities, and experience a true sense of belonging. Each event is carefully planned with traffic management and safety in mind, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for all ages.
The Neighbourhood Street Party Program supports locals by funding essential costs such as traffic management, advertising, and insurance. The 2025/2026 application period has closed, but upcoming street parties are scheduled across various streets in Prospect and Nailsworth. Events run mostly in the early evening to night, perfect for families to join after school or work.
Events take place on the following streets with temporary road closures to ensure safety:
These closures provide a safe space for community fun and interaction.
Please note that applications for funding for 2025/2026 have closed. The program encourages a high level of resident involvement to make each party a success. Safety is paramount, with all events requiring approved traffic management plans. These events are family-friendly and ideal for parents looking to engage their children in community activities.
There is no cost to attend these street parties. Funding covers necessary permits and safety measures, making it easy for residents to participate. For more information or to discuss future events, contact the Community Programs and Activation Officer at City of Prospect.
