Experience an exciting day where senior high school students use generative AI tools like ChatGPT to solve real-world challenges. This team-based hackathon focuses on issues related to the defence industry and blue economy, such as marine restoration and shipbuilding. Students will develop AI literacy, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork skills in a supportive environment.
Mentors from marine, manufacturing, and sustainability sectors will guide participants, providing valuable industry insights. Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams, adding an extra layer of motivation and excitement.

The hackathon runs from 9:15 AM to 2:30 PM on Thursday, 26 March 2026, at the Cockburn Bowling and Recreation Club (BARC) in Yangebup. Teams consist of up to seven students and one teacher, with each student required to bring a laptop.
Registration is restricted to invited schools with access codes, ensuring a focused and collaborative environment. The event emphasizes critical and creative thinking, professional presentation skills, and teamwork.
Participants will engage in hands-on activities using AI tools to explore, design, and pitch innovative solutions to industry challenges.
The event takes place at Cockburn BARC, located at 40 Birchley Rd, Yangebup, WA 6164. The venue is equipped with accessibility features including in-map voice and accessible colour choice to support all attendees.
Yangebup is easily accessible by car and public transport, with ample parking available at the venue. Families and schools are encouraged to plan their travel in advance to ensure timely arrival.

This event is free to attend but requires registration through an access code provided to invited schools. Only schools with issued codes can register.
