Step into a world of discovery and fun at the Open Doors, Open Books, Open Minds Library Open Day. This special event invites families to explore the many treasures and services your local library offers, from engaging children's activities to insightful tours and workshops.
Enjoy a variety of interactive experiences designed to spark imagination and learning, including scavenger hunts, storytimes, craft sessions, and technology workshops. Whether you’re a regular library visitor or new to the community, there’s something to delight everyone.
The day promises a warm, welcoming atmosphere where parents and children can connect with local culture, history, and the joy of reading.
The event takes place on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 09:30 to 17:00 across multiple Central Coast libraries. Highlights include:
- Children's scavenger hunts at Erina and Lake Haven Libraries
- Storytime sessions for ages 3-5 at Erina and Kincumber Libraries
- Guided tours of Gosford Regional Library at 09:30, 10:30, 11:30, and 14:00
- Craft workshops such as the Dreamy Adventure Fold-Out Book for ages 5-12
- MakerSpace skills workshops on 3D printing and Circut technology
- Adult succulent pot arrangement workshop
- Technology and health webinar by the eSafety Commissioner
Many activities require bookings, while others welcome drop-ins. Age recommendations and booking details vary by session.
