This engaging workshop invites children to explore cultural expression through art with First Nations artist Aunty Ros Cameron. Kids will paint on natural materials like gum leaves, gumnuts, and rocks using bright and colorful Posca pens. The session encourages creativity and mindfulness while connecting participants to nature and cultural symbols.
Your child will also learn how to thread gumnuts to create simple, beautiful jewelry, fostering fine motor skills and cultural appreciation. This is a wonderful opportunity for young artists to engage in meaningful craft that celebrates heritage and the environment.
The workshop is designed for beginners aged 7 to 15 years and includes all materials, tools, and equipment needed for the activities. The focus is on mindful making, cultural symbols, and connection to nature, guided by Aunty Ros’s expertise as an Aboriginal artist and cultural educator.
Participants will spend the afternoon immersed in creative expression, learning stories and cultural knowledge through art and storytelling. The workshop fee covers everything, so parents can relax knowing their children are well supported.
The event takes place at 1 Lobethal Rd, Lobethal SA 5241, Australia, a welcoming venue in the beautiful Adelaide Hills region. Parking is available at Fabrik, with helpful diagrams provided for ease of access.
