This drama taster session is designed especially for primary school children aged 8 to 12 who want to explore the fun of drama without pressure. Led by Nick Gell, a NIDA-trained actor and experienced drama educator, children will engage in creative games, improvisation, and storytelling activities. There are no scripts to memorise and no auditions, making it a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Children will have the chance to build confidence, express themselves creatively, and enjoy the magic of theatre in a supportive small group setting. This session previews a longer five-week module starting soon, giving families a taste of what’s to come.
The class runs for one hour after school, from 15:30 to 16:30, providing a perfect creative outlet after the school day ends. The cost is $30 per session, making it an affordable way to introduce your child to drama.
The group sizes are kept small to ensure each child receives personal attention and can fully participate in the activities. Nick Gell brings over a decade of teaching experience, including work at well-known Sydney schools, ensuring a professional and engaging experience.
The sessions are held at The Place, a creative studio located at 12 Victoria Street, Lewisham, NSW 2049. The venue is conveniently near the Lewisham train station, making it easy to access by public transport.
The Place is a vibrant space where working artists and performers share their skills with the community, offering a unique and inspiring environment for children to explore drama.
