What to Expect
Looking for a meaningful family activity that encourages kindness, creativity, and sustainability? At the Joy of Giving Hub, you and your children can join hands-on volunteer sessions focused on cleaning, sorting, packing, and decorating donated toys. This is a wonderful chance to teach children about generosity and the positive impact of giving.
Children are encouraged to bring a gently loved toy from home to donate, showing them how something they have enjoyed can be passed on to another child. As a special thank you, each child will get to choose a reimagined ‘new-to-them’ toy to take home.
These sessions support children and families experiencing disadvantage by sharing good quality toys, helping to keep toys in use and bringing happiness to those who may otherwise miss out.
Activity Details
The sessions run on multiple dates from late September to mid-October, each from 9:30am to 11:30am. Everyone aged 6 and over is welcome, with children under 16 needing to be accompanied by an adult. Places are limited, so booking ahead is recommended.
This is a volunteer opportunity that combines community spirit with hands-on creativity and education about sustainability. It’s perfect for families wanting to spend quality time together while making a positive impact.
