The Safer Drivers Course is designed to equip learner drivers with the knowledge and skills needed to reduce road risks and become confident, safe drivers. This course is perfect for young drivers transitioning to their provisional license, providing valuable insights and practical experience to help manage the challenges of driving independently.
This course combines engaging group discussions and hands-on driving coaching. You will explore key topics such as hazard identification, decision making, peer influence, and managing life pressures on the road. The practical driving session allows you to apply these lessons with professional instructors, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.
The course is split into two modules: a 3-hour facilitated group discussion followed by a 2-hour on-road coaching session with a professional driving instructor. This structure supports both theoretical understanding and practical application. Health Care and Pensioner Concession Card holders may be eligible for free access, subject to conditions.
Held at Woolloomooloo PCYC, located at the corner of Cathedral and Riley Streets, this venue is accessible and welcoming. The PCYC is an accredited provider of the Transport for NSW Safer Drivers Course, ensuring high-quality instruction and support throughout your learning journey.
The course is specifically tailored for learner drivers preparing for their provisional license. The first six months of driving on a P-plate are statistically the most dangerous, so this course aims to build confidence and safe habits early. Please bring your learner driver license and any required documentation.
The course runs on Saturday 18 July from 09:00 to 16:30. The cost is $140 for both children and adults. Bookings are essential to secure your place. For concession card holders, free places may be available under certain conditions. Contact PCYC City of Sydney for more details and to book your spot.
