Come and enjoy a rewarding morning outdoors at the Stony Range Community Planting Day. This event invites families and friends to come together to help restore the natural beauty of Stony Range by planting native trees and shrubs. It's a wonderful way to get involved in local environmental efforts while spending quality time outside.
You can expect a friendly, welcoming atmosphere where everyone pitches in to make a positive environmental impact. Volunteers will plant a variety of native species, learn about local flora, and enjoy the fresh air and natural surroundings. It’s a great opportunity for children to learn about nature and for parents to engage in meaningful community action.
The event runs from 9:30am to 11:30am on Tuesday, 14 April 2026. Participants should wear comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor work and bring gloves if they have them. All planting tools and materials will be provided, and volunteers of all ages are encouraged to join.
The planting day takes place at Stony Range Reserve, located at 14 Westwood Drive, Blackbutt NSW 2529. The meeting point is the walkway to the playground between 14 and 16 Westwood Drive. The site is accessible by car with parking nearby, and it’s a family-friendly outdoor space.
Please note that the event is booked out, so attendance may be limited. It is recommended to arrive on time to maximize your planting experience. Remember to bring water, sun protection, and wear sturdy shoes. This is a community-led event supported by Shellharbour Council, emphasizing environmental stewardship and community spirit.
This is a free community event with no cost to participate. Although the event is currently booked out, keep an eye on Shellharbour Council’s website for future opportunities to get involved in local environmental activities.
