What to Expect
This engaging workshop invites Chinese families and supporters of people with intellectual disability to explore the empowering concept of supported decision making. Participants will gain practical knowledge on how to assist loved ones in making their own choices with confidence and respect.
You will learn about the role of supporters in sharing information, discussing options, and providing practical help while honoring the person's will and preferences. The sessions are delivered in both English and Mandarin to ensure accessibility.
The workshop fosters a welcoming environment where families can share experiences, build confidence, and reflect on their important role in supporting decision making safely.
Activity Details
The workshop runs over two days: Monday 27 July 2026 from 10:30 to 13:30, and Tuesday 28 July 2026 from 10:00 to 12:00. It is designed specifically for Chinese families and supporters, making it culturally sensitive and practical.
Participants are encouraged to attend both days to fully benefit from the program. The sessions will cover practical ways to support decision making, explore cultural and family influences, and provide opportunities for group learning.
