What to Expect
This exciting ceramic workshop invites young artists to design and create their own Incan-inspired clay plates. Participants will learn beginner-friendly hand building techniques such as pinching, slab work, and surface decorating, guided by ancient Inca civilization art or their own imagination.
Explore traditional Incan symbols, patterns, and earthy colours while experimenting with carving, texture, and decorative techniques to bring your plates to life. This class welcomes all skill levels, whether your teen is an experienced artist or trying ceramics for the first time.
Activity Details
The workshop runs on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, from 01:15 to 16:15. Students will enjoy supervised morning or afternoon tea breaks and a lunch break if attending the full day. Breaks are usually held outside in the beautiful garden, weather permitting.
Please ensure your child brings a water bottle, snack and/or lunch, and a jacket each day. If your teen is coming and going independently, a waiver must be completed to give permission for them to leave at the end of the class.
An additional $8 fee applies if you wish to have your child’s work glazed and fired, helping reduce unclaimed works and support sustainable art making. All pottery must be collected within 4 weeks after completion.
