What to Expect
This engaging workshop invites teens to dive into the creative world of printmaking, exploring unique techniques like Tetra Pak etching and linocut printing. Young artists will learn how to carve, incise, and ink surfaces to create striking images.
Throughout the day, students will develop skills in line, texture, contrast, and mark-making, gaining hands-on experience with both intaglio and relief printing processes. By the end, each participant will have produced a small edition of prints showcasing their new skills.
The workshop is perfect for teens eager to explore artistic expression in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Activity Details
This full-day workshop runs from 9:30am to 4:15pm and includes supervised morning and afternoon tea breaks, plus a lunch break for full-day attendees. Breaks are usually held outside in the beautiful garden, weather permitting.
Students will be guided through the printmaking process by experienced instructor Edwina Barton, ensuring a safe and educational experience.
Please note that students must remain on-site during breaks, and if teens are coming and going independently, a waiver must be completed granting permission for them to leave at the end of the class.

The workshop takes place at Waverley Woollahra Art School, located at 138 Bondi Rd, Bondi NSW 2026. The venue is accessible and welcoming, with a lovely garden space for breaks.

Important Information
Students should bring comfortable clothing suitable for art activities, as printmaking can be a hands-on and sometimes messy process.
All materials and printing presses are provided by the school, so no prior experience or supplies are necessary.
