This workshop introduces the basics of safe and sustainable verge gardening, focusing on choosing suitable plants and understanding local government requirements.
You will explore the benefits of verge gardening, your rights and responsibilities when modifying the verge, and street tree regulations. Learn about the pros and cons of lawned verges and discover waterwise plants that require low maintenance.
Hannah from Budding Concepts will share her expertise on native plants and practical verge design ideas, inspiring you to make the most of your verge space.

Location and Access
The workshop will be held at the Bibra Lake Community Centre, located at 132 Parkway Road, Bibra Lake WA 6163. The venue offers free parking, accessible toilets, and accessible parking bays (ACROD).
Additional accessibility features include in-map voice and accessible colour choice for the venue map. Please ensure these features are enabled if needed.
Important Information
This workshop is free to attend and co-funded by the Water Corporation’s Waterwise Council Program. It is co-hosted with the Bibra Lake Residents Association.
Participants are encouraged to register in advance to secure their place. The event is suitable for City of Cockburn residents interested in sustainable gardening and community greening.
