This bushcare group offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the environment by removing invasive weeds and planting native species. It's a wonderful way for families to connect with the outdoors and teach children the value of conservation.
You'll be working alongside passionate volunteers and council staff in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Whether you're experienced or new to bushcare, all are welcome to join and make a positive impact on this cherished local environment.

The bushcare sessions take place every month on the third Tuesday, from 09:00 to 12:00. Activities include weeding, planting indigenous plants, and maintaining the revegetated areas around the playing fields near Wylie's Baths.
Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes, sun protection, and bring water. Tools and gloves are typically provided by the council.
The group has successfully revegetated large portions of the site and continues to expand the native plantings, making a tangible difference to the local ecosystem.
Meet near the Council ute parked by the BBQ area opposite the entrance to Wylie's Baths, located above Coogee Beach. The site is accessible by public transport and offers a beautiful coastal setting for your volunteer work.
Parking is limited, so consider carpooling or using nearby public transport options. The location is family-friendly and offers a great chance to explore the beach before or after the session.
Please note the sessions run until 15 December 2026, with monthly meetings on the third Tuesday. It's recommended to book your spot by contacting the Bushcare Officer.
Volunteers should be prepared for outdoor work and bring suitable clothing for weather conditions. Children are welcome but should be supervised at all times.
This is a community-driven initiative supported by Randwick City Council, aiming to preserve local bushland and enhance biodiversity.
