This compassionate cat desexing program is designed to help Banyule pet owners care for their cats by offering free desexing services. It promotes healthier, happier cats and supports the community by preventing overpopulation and reducing nuisance behaviors.
Desexing your cat is a vital step towards a longer life and better health, reducing risks of infections and aggressive behaviors. This program also helps protect native wildlife by minimizing predatory instincts.
Appointments are limited to 10 per day, with a maximum of 2 cats per household, ensuring personalized care and attention.
The program runs monthly on Mondays from 08:45 to 16:00, with drop-off between 08:45 and 09:15 and collection by 16:00 on the same day. Cats must be transported in suitable crates.
There is no cost for desexing, but microchipping is available for $55. Bookings are essential to secure your spot.
Transportation assistance is available for community members with mobility restrictions; contact Banyule Council for support.
