Junior Giants Basketball is a lively and engaging program tailored for children aged 5 to 7 years old. It offers a fantastic introduction to basketball, focusing on developing basic skills like dribbling and shooting while ensuring the kids have a great time.
This program encourages active play and social interaction, making it perfect for young beginners who want to explore sports in a supportive environment. Parents or guardians are required to stay during the sessions, providing a comfortable setting for the children.
With two session options available each day, families can choose the time that best fits their schedule.
The program runs weekly on Thursdays from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, with two 45-minute sessions: 4:00 PM to 4:45 PM and 4:45 PM to 5:30 PM. It spans multiple weeks, starting from July 16, 2026, through September 17, 2026.
Children will learn fundamental basketball skills through fun drills and games designed to build confidence and coordination. The sessions are structured to keep young participants engaged and active throughout.
Bookings are required to secure a spot, and a pro-rata fee applies if joining mid-term. An additional annual family membership fee applies if not already paid.
The sessions take place at the Aspendale Gardens Community Centre, located at 103-105 Kearney Drive, Aspendale Gardens 3195. The main building is accessible from the rear car park via the roundabout at Kearney Drive and Nurten Parade.
Families are encouraged to consider walking, cycling, or using public transport to reach the venue, helping to reduce parking demand and promote sustainability.
The community centre is well-equipped and child-friendly, providing a safe and welcoming environment for young athletes.
Parents or guardians must remain on-site during the sessions to supervise and support their children. This ensures a safe and comfortable experience for all participants.
The program is designed for pre-club aged children, focusing on skill development and fun rather than competition.

The full term cost is $160.00, with pro-rata pricing available if spots open mid-term. Additionally, a $5.00 annual family membership fee applies if not already paid.
