This engaging workshop is designed for adults who already ride confidently on shared paths and want to take the next step to riding safely on roads. Perfect for parents looking to gain the skills needed to use their bike for transport, fitness, or recreation, this session offers practical guidance and hands-on experience.
What to Expect
You will learn how to perform a safety check on your bike and ensure it fits you correctly. The workshop covers essential bike control skills including braking, cornering, and emergency stops. On-road techniques such as signalling, scanning, and using eye contact are practiced to build your confidence.
Traffic skills like road positioning and merging are discussed, along with tips on navigating shared paths, bike lanes, tram tracks, and understanding road rules for cyclists. The session includes a short on-road ride in light traffic with scenario discussions at intersections and roundabouts. Plenty of time is allocated for questions.
